Don Beck

Author

Don Beck left a tenured teaching position after only five years of investing to manage full time his growing real estate portfolio. It is Don's contention that too many people learn the no money down concepts and other fancy acquisition techniques and then fall flat on their faces because they have no idea of how to control tenants. Before they know it, the tenants are controlling them by not paying the rent. The positive cash flow property quickly turns negative.

This can be easily avoided by putting as much time and effort into learning good property management skills as was spent learning creative ways to buy property. Thousands of students from around the country have benefited from his tried and proven "Down to Earth Landlording" techniques. His concern for attention to detail has earned him the respect of tenants and property owners alike. He employs a wide range of strategies to maximize profit and minimize headaches.

Don has been the president of the Diversified Real Estate Investor Group (DIG) in Philadelphia since 1990 and is a current member of the National Association of Real Estate Investors Association. In 1984 he left a tenured teaching position to become a full-time investor and manager of his growing real estate portfolio.

He has written a book on property management called "Down to earth Landlording" and is a national speaker on landlording issues. Don's enthusiasm and natural teaching ability captures his audiences and motivates them to apply the landlording principles he so openly shares. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker, GRI, has been featured in Smart Money Magazine, CNBC, and numerous radio talk shows.
